A Rich History
The club's roots go back to 1959, when local businessmen and golfers set out to establish a private course in Salem as part of a real estate development. The course opened in 1961 Oregon Courses, and it has been shaping the region's golfing culture ever since. The name "Illahe" itself comes from the Chinook word "ilahekh," meaning "land" or "earth" Oregon Courses — a fitting nod to the Pacific Northwest's deep Indigenous heritage.
The Golf Course
Designed by William F. Bell in 1961 and later refined by Robert Muir Graves in 1981, the course stretches 6,819 yards to a par of 72, with a course rating of 72.8 and a slope of 129.
